Skylar Lockleay - Google Ads Optimization Specialist

Skylar Lockleay
Google Ads Optimization Specialist
If you’re looking for someone who can spot an opportunity hiding in a Google Ads account, dig into the data, and somehow keep everything organized along the way, meet Skyler. She’s equal parts analytical, creative, and detail-oriented, which is a pretty useful combination when your job is making sure Google Ads campaigns are working as hard as they can.
As a Google Ads Optimization Specialist at Third Marble Marketing, Skyler works behind the scenes to make sure clients’ Google Ads accounts are set up for success—and then keeps a close eye on them to maximize leads and revenue. She regularly optimizes over 100 Google Ads accounts, so there’s rarely a dull moment. Her days can include everything from building new accounts and reviewing reports to troubleshooting campaigns and working with Account Managers on big client updates. Basically, if there’s a number that needs investigating, Skyler is probably already looking at it.
She especially enjoys working with Shopping and e-commerce clients. Improving a client's return on ad spend (ROAS) can be a challenge, but for Skyler, finding the right optimization and watching those numbers head in the right direction is incredibly rewarding.
After three years at Third Marble, one of Skyler’s favorite things about the company is the team. She loves that everyone is quick to jump in and help each other out. Small but mighty is the perfect way to describe the crew—and Skyler is definitely part of the “mighty.”
Her organizational skills may come naturally. As the oldest of six children, Skyler has had a lifetime of experience keeping things moving, staying on top of the chaos, and presumably knowing where everyone is supposed to be. Those skills come in pretty handy when you're managing Google Ads accounts!
When she’s not optimizing campaigns, Skyler is usually doing something a little more relaxing: taking long walks, getting lost in a good book, playing guitar, hunting for treasures at thrift stores, or decorating her home. And in an interesting twist, Skyler is color blind. This means she spends her workday analyzing data without relying on one of the things marketers traditionally love to look at: pretty colors.
Skyler believes creativity is one of the most important tools a marketer can have. Her advice to anyone starting out in the industry? “Hold on to your creativity. Don’t be afraid to think outside the box, try something new, and approach a problem from a different angle. Sometimes, the unexpected idea is the one that makes the biggest difference for a client.”
